Dr. Amatya completed her undergraduate medical education from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2011 and received the Masters in General Practice degree from the prestigious Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine (TUTH), Kathmandu, Nepal in 2016. Her past affiliations include Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital and Patan Hospital. She is certified in Travel Health (CTH®) from the International Society of Travel Medicine and has the clinical research title Fellow of the Journal of Nepal Medical Association (FJNMA). She is the Kathmandu site director for GeoSentinel, the emerging infectious diseases network of the CDC, and the ISTM. She joined CIWEC in 2016.
