A new website, winter respiratory infections, first aid training at both hospitals, and screening packages on promotion — plus our new treadmill stress test.
New website
We're delighted to announce the launch of our new website, after weeks of work. It's now live at ciwechospital.com.
Health news
We've seen a variety of respiratory infections through January and February, including COVID-19 and influenza. It's still not too late to get your annual flu shot. COVID-19 vaccines are now available only at Teku Hospital, but we hope most of you have already been immunized. See our influenza guide.
Health screening on promotion
Health screening packages are available at a reduced rate until the end of March. A yearly comprehensive check-up can detect serious illness early — or lower your risk before problems develop. Regular check-ups also keep you more aware of your health and can significantly reduce healthcare costs over time. Please make use of the offer while it lasts.
Treadmill stress test (TMT)
Some patients ask for a treadmill test as part of their physical. CIWEC now has a fully automatic Schiller TMT for cardiac stress testing. The test measures how well your heart responds to exercise in a controlled clinical setting. It helps diagnose coronary artery disease, assess how well cardiac treatment is working, and work out safe levels of exercise. It's performed by our senior consultant cardiologist.
To book, call reception or email [email protected]. Our doctors will review your health, symptoms and history to check that the test is right for you.
First aid training at both hospitals
Our medical team has been running first aid training for several organizations at our Kathmandu and Pokhara hospitals. Participants get hands-on first aid and basic CPR practice on a manikin, plus a talk full of practical tips on what to do in an emergency until the sick or injured person reaches proper care. Everyone who completes the training receives a certificate.
