Dr. Maharjan finished his Master’s degree from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2006. He trained under Prof. Yves Van Nieuwenhove in Ghent University Hospital, Belgium under BGS scholarship award in gastrointestinal Surgery. He is one of the Pioneers to start advanced laparoscopic (Key hole) surgery in Nepal including Single port Laparoscopic Surgery for gall bladder, appendix and colorectal cancer. Currently, he is Assistant Professor in Department of Surgery at KMC Teaching Hospital. He has published two books on Gastrointestinal Surgery Series –“Colorectal Surgery and Pancreas and Hepatobiliary Surgery and has more than 40 publications. He joined CIWEC in 2018 as a Consultant.
