FIRST WORLD HOSPITAL CARE IN KATHMANDU
I recently returned home to Australia after being hospitalised in Ciwec Hospital Kathmandu (Ciwec) for three weeks following a trekking mishap. Within five hours of presenting myself at Ciwec I had emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. The surgery was a complete success although I contacted a staph infection which prolonged my Ciwec stay.
The medical treatment and care I received was first world standard and as good as I would expect in any hospital in Brisbane Australia. My surgeon Dr (Prof) Mahesh Khakurel was magnificent and the Doctors and Nurses at Ciwec were so very professional, committed and caring. There was not one day where I did not receive at least one visit and health check from a Doctor. A Nurse was essentially on call 24 hours per day. Additionally, Dr (Prof) Khakurel visited and checked on me an estimated 13 times whilst in Ciwec.
Ciwec worked closely with my Travel Insurance company NIB Travel Insurance Australia who were also First Class.
I highly recommend Ciwec
